Dr. Chang Phuong
Dr. Chang Phuong is a faculty member in the College of Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. He has 8+ years of teaching experience and over 25 years of practical experience working for Fortune 250 companies in the areas of Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, Records Management, Disaster Recovery, Fraud Investigation, and Governance/Risk/Compliance (GRC). He has a Project Management Professional (PMP) and a Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma, among other professional certifications.
Dr. Phuong began practicing martial arts in the late 1970s for health and self-defense and has participated and won in multiple tournaments in the USA and abroad. His martial experience includes Karate-Do (Shotokan, Kyokushin Kaikan, and Shorei Goyu), Taekwondo, and various Chinese martial art styles. In 1998 he was awarded the title of 7th Generation Pak Mei Disciple and authorized to teach. He began to learn and practice Tai Ji with Dr. Guo in 1999 and was authorized to teach since 2002. He is a founding member of the Chattanooga Tai Ji Community and served in the Board of Directors.
